TikTok has been banned from India for allegedly allowing ‘pornographic’ and ‘sleazy’ content to propagate, especially among its younger audience. It’s also been alleged, in several countries no less, that the app is proving to be a fertile hunting ground for pedophiles.
The ban came after the Supreme Court rejected the plea from Tik Tok to stay with the Madras High Courts decision on banning the app.
After the Tik Tok app was removed from the Google Play Store and Apple's App Store in India, the google trends result showed a surge in 'How To Download Tik Tok' query. It was most searched in Kerala, Telangana, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.
