The Homecoming for Chennai Super Kings

IPL 2018 Champions- Chennai Super Kings

The cricket festival is about to begin in India. Yes!! the Indian Premier League is on its verge to kick off.

The Chennai Super Kings host Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2019 VIVI IPL opener on 23rd March. Last season CSK were forced to shift their home games to Pune due to political issues prevailed in TamilNadu, which made the fans sad. But the Lions are back to den this time around.

Defending champions have a formidable record in MA. Chidambaram with 34 wins off 48 games played having a win percentage of 70.83.

" It gives us confidence, and I am sure other teams coming to Chennai will be a little bit nervous given our home record," CSK batting coach Mike Hussey said. " Our squad was picked during the 2018 auction with Chennai conditions in mind" he added.

Csk is the first team to win consecutive IPL titles in which the fans have played a massive role.

" For our practice matches last year, I think there were more than 10,000 people who came to watch us. I have never experienced before," CSK bowling consultant Eric Simmons said.

That's one of the home ground advantage, that's one of the things about this place. I don't think people understand to what extent they are an extra player for us.," he added.

"Every team has got this, but the loyalty of CSK supporters is different. That's a massive factor for us, having their support apart from knowing the conditions and having a sense of home. Pune was fantastic, welcomed us with open arms, but this is home."

CSK is the only team to reach the qualifiers of all seasons which they appeared in and won three out of them joining Mumbai Indians for the highest number of title wins.
